Baby Season

It’s that time of year when skunks, groundhogs, raccoons, squirrels, opossums, deer, etc. are having young. Seeing them out in the day is not uncommon. Some people think they are sick with rabies but that is not the case.  The little ones are just rambunctious and rebellious. Like our little ones, they don’t always listen to their mothers :-). Note: They will not leave on their own and will be back next year to start all over again.

We get calls concerning orphaned fawns this time of year. Fawns are left alone by their mothers intentionally while they are out feeding. Please leave the fawn where you found it!  The mother will be back later in the day or that night to tend to her young fawn.
